At the Education Administration in Järfälla Municipality, approximately 3,100 employees work across our 39 preschools, 22 schools, gymnasiums, adult education centers, and central administration. Our operations are characterized by our core values: professionalism, collegiality, and development potential. With courage and competence, we drive our operations forward, valuing mutual respect and understanding among colleagues. Together, we strive to make each other better, knowing that when we develop together and continuously improve, we move Järfälla forward.
Olovslundskolan is located in western Jakobsberg. The school has approximately 620 students from preschool class up to grade 6, and we also have an adapted primary school for students in grades 1–6.
On the adapted primary school, there are approximately 30 students distributed across 5 classes. The students have intellectual disabilities (ID), and many have additional diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, and speech disorders. Our students require a slower teaching pace and interaction with calm and secure staff. We use visual supports and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) signs, among other tools, to clarify tasks, routines, and events for the students during their days at school and in after-school care. Our students study both specific subjects and subject areas.
We are now looking for 1 Support Pedagogue for our adapted primary school. The position is fixed-term but may potentially be extended.
Job Description
As a Support Pedagogue, you will work closely with the students during their days at school and in after-school care. You will be part of a work team together with other pedagogues and special education teachers. While the lesson plans are created by the teacher, both support pedagogues and teachers instruct the students.
You will work during school hours and in after-school care. We expect an active pedagogue who participates in the students' entire day; in the classroom, during breaks, and in after-school activities. On the adapted primary school, students also need support with tasks such as dressing, meals, play, and personal hygiene.
You will plan and implement education together with the work team in a way that promotes the students' development, health, and well-being. Your role involves meeting all students with respect for their person and providing each student with the prerequisites to develop trust and self-confidence. Everyone working within the school must show respect for the individual and contribute to creating a democratic climate. You will collaborate with the home and build trusting relationships with both guardians and colleagues.
