Company Description

The Finance Department consists of financial management/accounting, financial administrators, and procurement. Within financial management, overarching budget, final accounts, and follow-up processes are handled. The financial management unit provides qualified controller support to administrations, boards, and committees regarding financial and strategic matters.

Your organizational affiliation is under the Support and Development Administration (SoU), which is the municipality's central competence for development, administration, finance, personnel, IT, and information. Your position is located at the Finance Department/Financial Administration, and you report to the Head of Financial Administration.

Job Responsibilities

As a Financial Administrator, you will work in a team with colleagues. We handle invoicing, claims management, and supplier invoices. Your role involves being part of the team and performing administrative tasks within the department. Please note that the Finance Office switched to the Unit4 ERP system on November 1, 2025.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a secondary education in economics and data, or another level of education that the employer deems relevant. Experience working in public administration is meritorious but not a requirement. In your work, you will have many personal contacts, so it is important that you enjoy working with people, have a pedagogical approach, are solution-focused, and have a strong sense of service. Interest in societal issues is also a plus. We assume you are proficient in the Office suite, particularly Excel, and that you have good verbal and written communication skills. Personal suitability is of great importance.

In accordance with the National Minority Language Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
