The Swedish Probation and Parole Service is establishing itself in Umeå! Do you want to be part of it from the beginning?

We are now looking for several licensed psychologists who want to help launch our new probation office in Umeå. The office will open in autumn 2026 and is centrally located in newly renovated premises next to the Ume River. Most of the interviews are intended to be held there during weeks 33-34.

At the probation units, physicians, psychologists, nurses, and administrators work together with our case officers. In total, there will be approximately 60 colleagues when everyone is in place.

Your responsibilities

As a psychologist with us, your main task is to interview and assess our candidates in various selection assignments. You work independently based on our established methods, guidelines, and manuals. The work and methods have a high degree of structure, so it is important that you thrive in a structured working environment. We continuously work with follow-up as well as method and operational development. There may be occasions where you have the opportunity to contribute to and participate in this work.

Your effort is part of a common probation chain, which means you do not have booked appointments but solve the day's assignments in collaboration with others.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a psychologist with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare.
• Have a few years of work experience in the profession after completing the PTP (Psychologist Training Program).
• Can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

• Clinical assessments.
• Psychometric testing.

About the employment

Permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period. The place of work is Umeå, but travel within the scope of work occurs. Start date: Week 4, 2027.

You will naturally receive a thorough introduction when you start with us. Some parts are conducted at our other probation offices, which means more travel during your first weeks as an employee.

Due to the nature of the operations, you cannot work from home, but we hope this instead contributes to a clearer division between work and leisure. You have the opportunity to train on working hours and are offered a favorable wellness allowance. You also receive parental benefit supplement and up to 35 days of vacation depending on your age. The employment is security classified, and we therefore conduct a security check with register control according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. The employment includes an obligation to be placed in wartime duties.
