The Swedish National Service and Evaluation Authority is establishing itself in Umeå! Do you want to be part of it from the start?

We are now looking for a licensed physician who wants to help launch our new evaluation office in Umeå. The office will open in autumn 2026 and is centrally located in newly renovated premises next to the Ume River. Most interviews are planned to be held there during weeks 33-34.

At the evaluation units, chief physicians, psychologists, nurses, and administrators work together with our case handlers. In total, there will be approximately 60 colleagues when everyone is in place.

Your responsibilities

As a physician with us, you conduct medical examinations and medical assessments of candidates for education and employment within the Swedish Armed Forces and other clients within the total defense, such as the Swedish Police Authority.

Your duties include, for example:

• Handling and assessing supplementary certificates.
• Answering questions from the public and candidates.
• Participating in and having partial responsibility for medical development work related to the authority's various assignments.

The work and methods have a high degree of structure. Therefore, it is important that you thrive with a structured way of working.

Your work effort is part of a common evaluation chain, which means you do not have booked appointments but solve the day's assignments in collaboration with others.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a physician with a license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare.
• Have specialist competence in a clinical specialty deemed relevant.
• Have a few years of work experience in the profession within your specialty.
• Can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

You are a person with clear maturity, inner stability, and integrity. Taking responsibility comes naturally to you, as does structuring and driving the work forward without losing direction. With your ability to see the big picture, you can handle complex issues and analyze them in a way that makes it possible to break down problems and find sustainable solutions. In your communication, you are clear and receptive, and you adapt your message to the recipient.

About the employment

Permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period. The place of work is Umeå, but travel during work occurs. Start date: week 5, 2027.

You will naturally receive a thorough introduction when you start with us. Some parts are conducted at our other evaluation offices, which means more travel during your first weeks as an employee.

Due to the nature of the operations, you cannot work from home, but we hope this instead can contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. You get the opportunity to exercise during working hours and are offered a favorable wellness allowance.
