Specialist Physician in Orthopedics – Pediatric Orthopedics or Hip and Knee Arthroplasty
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for an equal welfare system and ensure that research and innovation yield results.
The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Surgery (ROC) Umeå is responsible for university hospital care in orthopedics, including spine surgery, in the Northern Healthcare Region, comprising the four northernmost counties. ROC also serves as the county hospital for orthopedics in Västerbotten and the district hospital for the Umeå region.
The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Surgery is divided into the sections of Arthroplasty and Tumors, FACTUM, Trauma, and Spine. Together, these sections perform thousands of patient visits, treatments, and surgical procedures annually. Together with the Surgical and Orthopedic Clinic in Lycksele and the Unit for Surgical Operations in Skellefteå, we are responsible for all orthopedic care in the county.
The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Surgery in Umeå is a University Hospital Unit (USVE), where research and student supervision are a natural part of clinical daily life.
Our diverse activities within the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research and Surgery are seen as stimulating by our staff, as the operations are divided into different sections that provide varied work and a broad medical knowledge base. We offer a practice with both breadth and depth, ranging from assessments of patients' acute orthopedic problems in emergency care, outpatient clinics, and wards, to elective orthopedic surgeries and extensive fracture and trauma surgery.
