Occupational Therapist for the Children's Team at Habiliteringscentrum, Region Västerbotten

Habiliteringscentrum is a base unit comprising child and adolescent habilitation, adult habilitation advice and support, as well as visual and hearing rehabilitation. The operations provide habilitation according to the Health and Medical Services Act, as well as counseling and other personal support according to the Act, and support and services to certain people with disabilities, for children, adolescents, and adults with permanent functional impairments.

Habiliteringscentrum is a county-wide operation with approximately 170 employees located in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå. The mission is to contribute to good health and the best possible functional capacity, as well as good conditions for an independent life and active participation in societal life for the children, adolescents, and adults we serve.

We are now looking for an occupational therapist for the children's team to work with children (0–12 years) with significant and/or permanent functional impairments, as well as with their guardians. We have approximately 20 employees. The team includes an administrator, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, counselor, speech therapist, psychologist, and special educator.

Job Description

As an occupational therapist with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.

The goal is to help children and adolescents (0–12 years) become more independent and involved. You assess needs, trial, and follow up on both cognitive and mobility aids to compensate for activity limitations. You also provide interventions in areas such as sleep, time perception, structure, and planning.

Work takes place in teams, and planning is done in collaboration with the child and/or parents. It also involves collaborating with other networks and operations regarding the user, such as preschools and schools. Work is conducted through clinic visits, home visits, school visits, and digital meetings. Together with other employees, you are responsible for creating and following up on care plans with the family. You participate in the planning and implementation of training and group activities for users/relatives and networks, and you contribute to quality registers such as CPUP.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist and have good knowledge of significant and permanent functional impairments and the consequences this can have on a person's life. You should have experience working with aids regarding sitting, mobility, personal care, and cognition. You must also have the ability to collaborate and communicate knowledge about the consequences of functional impairments in daily life to the individual, the family, and other networks. You have good ability to work in teams as well as independently, and possess strong planning and organizational skills.

The position involves travel within Norsjö and Skellefteå municipalities, which means you need a driver's license.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
