The Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine Department 2 is part of the acute/infection area. The department has 14 care beds, two of which are intermediate care beds. Our primary focus is on infectious diseases, but we also treat children and adolescents with several other acute conditions. At our department, care stays are short, usually a couple of days, and we have a very clear seasonal variation. We work interprofessionally to provide the child and family with the best possible care and experience during their stay.

Our intermediate care includes sick children whose medical and nursing needs cannot be met on a regular care ward but for whom there is no medical indication for intensive care. There is constant staff presence on the intermediate care ward. We have close collaboration with both the neonatal and intensive care units (ICU).

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a nurse or pediatric nurse to join our work group! We welcome both those who are new to the nursing role and those with many years of experience. We offer you a job in an stimulating environment where the child and family are always at the center!

Working with acutely ill children differs from regular care because the whole family is involved. The ability to collaborate with parents and make them active participants in the care is therefore an important and exciting part of our work. Here, you assess and perform pediatric nursing care and work closely with your colleagues on the department.

For you who are a newly graduated nurse, we offer a cross-functional training program, Clinical Base Year VO Paediatrics, with associated group nursing supervision. The training program gives you in-depth knowledge about both healthy and sick children and the broad area that paediatrics covers. The program spans one year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare, or alternatively a pediatric nurse. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. If you have specialist competence in a relevant area and/or previous work experience in pediatric care, it is meritorious for the position.

To succeed in the position, you must have the ability to adapt to new situations, a willingness to work in a team, and be stress-resistant. You are trustworthy and empathetic in contact with children and their families. As a person, you are proactive, flexible, and meticulous. The work with us places high demands on, among other things, teamwork, empathy, and sensitivity. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
