The Orthopedics area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) provides both emergency and elective orthopedic care with district and regional responsibility. The overarching goal of the operations is to provide orthopedic care of the highest international class through research, development, and education at an international level, as well as through internal quality assurance and participation in national registers. Our operational area covers Lund, Malmö, and Trelleborg.

Job Description

On the pediatric section of orthopedics at Sus, nine orthopedic surgeons work in positions as specialists, assistant chief physicians, and chief physicians. We are now seeking two specialist physicians with interest and knowledge to develop within the field of pediatric orthopedics. As a specialist physician with us, you will work in operating rooms, clinics, and wards. You will work clinically and it also includes supporting clinical research within the operations. In addition, participation in on-call duties is included.

The main place of work is Lund, but the job involves travel and service within the entire operational area.

Qualifications

You who apply are a licensed physician with permission to work within Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have specialist competence in orthopedics. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. You must have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision. For the position, it is required that you have on-call competence at the primary and house officer level. Active ongoing research work is meritorious as well as service within pediatric orthopedics after specialist degree.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This you may have acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisor of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.
