Description

Adult education is part of the Children and Education Administration, led by a Director of Adult Education and five principals. The premises are spacious and bright, located within one of the former barracks on the old regiment area. Adult education includes basic and upper secondary education, vocational adult education (Yrkesvux), Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), special needs adult education (SÄRVUX), and University College level vocational education. Parts of the operations are commission-based courses funded by the state and depend on our ability to adapt to fluctuations in the labor market.

Responsibilities

The operations are organized into work teams that independently plan, organize, implement, and follow up on the education. Since the conditions are constantly changing, this entails high demands for flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification with at least 30 credits in Swedish as a Second Language.
  • Documented knowledge of reading and writing acquisition.
  • Documented experience with SFI, Study Path 1, and adult education is meritorious.

We place great importance on personal qualities that we assess are prerequisites for functioning well in the teaching role, such as personal maturity, good judgment, and the ability to work in a structured and independent manner. Very good teamwork skills are also required, as well as seeing the strength and positivity in working as a team.

Conditions

Start date: August or by agreement.

2 positions at 100%; one permanent position and one fixed-term position that may convert to a permanent position.

Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

Employment is subject to necessary decisions being made. For positions involving direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for operations within LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), care and nursing, health and medical care, psychiatric care, and addiction care, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted prior to employment. Please note that it may take time to obtain the extract, so order it well in advance to avoid delaying the recruitment process.
