Uppsala Adapted Upper Secondary School is growing, and we are now looking for a school psychologist who wants to contribute to the development of the adapted upper secondary school in a close and collegial environment where every effort makes a difference! Uppsala AG is the municipal adapted upper secondary school in Uppsala and consists of two school units: Uppsala AG Fyris and Uppsala AG Jälla. In total, the school will have approximately 175 students and around 120 employees.

On the national programs, students study common subjects such as English, Swedish, mathematics, history, and physical education, as well as subjects related to their chosen program. For students who find it difficult to follow the teaching within a national program, there is an individual program where teaching is based on subject areas.

Description of Duties

As a school psychologist, you work to support students' mental health and well-being to create good conditions for their learning and development. The role involves working preventively and health-promoting, as well as providing support regarding assessments and interventions for students with special needs. You will be part of the student health team and contribute expertise regarding students' cognitive, emotional, and social development. The work includes assessments, conversations with students, and counseling for guardians and school staff. You may also be involved in developing strategies and adaptations that strengthen students' learning and well-being. The position also includes working with supervision and training for staff, as well as collaborating with external actors when necessary for the benefit of the student. The focus is on creating a safe school environment where students can grow and develop based on their unique needs and conditions. In the role of school psychologist, you are part of the student health services and work to provide good and safe care for our students.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have experience working as a psychologist or school psychologist. To succeed in the role, you need experience working with children and young people in need of special support, and with collaboration and cooperation in teams where different professional categories complement each other. The work requires good oral and written skills in Swedish.

We would appreciate it if you have experience working within student health services. Good knowledge of neuropsychological testing methods is considered an advantage.

You have excellent collaboration skills and work smoothly with colleagues, students, and guardians. Through your empathetic ability, you can put yourself in others' perspectives and meet each student based on their individual needs. You have pedagogical insight and understand how people acquire knowledge, which allows you to clearly and appropriately communicate and convey psychological perspectives to different target groups in the school environment. At the same time, you have a well-developed holistic view, where you see the student's situation in a broader context and consider both the individual's and the organization's best interests in your assessments and interventions.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.
