Our Operations

The Department of Orthopedics and Hand Surgery is a workplace in constant development, consisting of an orthopedic adult emergency clinic, the management of acute and elective orthopedic conditions, and a pediatric orthopedic unit with both acute and elective activities. The main focus is on both highly specialized and basic-oriented orthopedic care across seven different sections divided into prosthetic surgery, spinal surgery, fracture surgery, shoulder/knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery, and pediatric orthopedics. In addition to patients from Uppsala County, a large number of national/regional patients are treated within each subspecialty, and the department has extensive cooperation with the orthopedic clinics in the region. The department employs approximately 250 staff members.

Your Role

The position involves elective and, to some extent, acute orthopedics with a focus on foot and ankle surgery. On-call duties are included. The work is located at Akademiska sjukhuset and at other units with which we collaborate. The department has an academic profile with education for medical students and doctors at all stages of their careers, other basic training, and specialist training for nurses. We conduct research with national and international partners and engage in quality and patient safety work with a focus on proactive operational development.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a specialist in orthopedics with experience in foot and ankle surgery. An academic profile is highly meritorious.
