Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Do you want to work in health promotion where your engagement makes a difference in people's daily lives? Here, you can combine movement, conversation, and social community in a meaningful mission for adults and the elderly.
Welcome to us
The health promotion unit for adults and the elderly runs:
- seven open meeting places
- two senior gyms
- summer activities with excursions and bus trips
- events and lectures on current social issues
- a meeting place for people with experience of mental ill-health
- a leisure bank
Support services included in the operations are handyman services, vision and hearing instructors, and digital support staff.
We work based on the values of meaningfulness, participation, respect, and security. Collaboration with associations, civil society, and volunteers is a natural part of our mission. Here, you will meet a warm and inclusive work environment. We are solution-focused, help each other, and have a clear "ask-a-question" culture. It should feel both safe and fun to go to work.
Your role
As a health educator, you play a central role in strengthening physical, mental, and social health.
You will, among other things:
- Lead health-promoting activities such as seated exercises, balance training, walks, and other movement activities.
- Create social community through group activities such as conversation groups and well-being activities.
- Lead conversations focused on mental health and reduced involuntary loneliness.
- Work with communication and administration, for example, posters, mailings, surveys, and minutes.
- Participate in café operations at our meeting places.
- Collaborate with associations and civil society, as well as other operations in the district – which may involve some evening work one day a week.
- Work with the elderly target group within the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
The work is varied and adapted to the needs of the target groups.
What we offer
- A meaningful public service mission focused on adults and the elderly, with induction and close supervision.
- Competent colleagues who share responsibility and knowledge.
- Balance between work and private life with flexible working hours (winter and summer time, and the possibility of holiday swapping).
- Wellness allowance and access to a gym in the building.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university education as a health educator, or other relevant education.
- Experience leading physical and social activities.
- Familiarity with conversation methodologies.
- Good basic digital competence and experience working in Office.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
It is an advantage if you have experience of:
- Work in preventive activities for adults and the elderly.
- Collaboration with associations and civil society.
- Communication work that has shown good results.
To succeed in the role, we see that you contribute to good cooperation by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. You are self-reliant, taking responsibility for your work, being structured, and driving tasks forward independently. We believe you are flexible and easily adapt to new circumstances, with the ability to redirect tasks based on changed priorities. Furthermore, we see that you are resilient and have the ability to remain motivated and effective despite setbacks or obstacles.
Other information
The position involves placement at meeting places for adults and the elderly. The work is varied and changes from week to week based on the needs of the target groups (seniors, adults with experience of mental ill-health, and individuals with disabilities).
We recruit without a personal cover letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only base our evaluation on your CV and a number of questions you will answer when applying for the position. We request that you answer the questions concretely and concisely, and that there is a clear link between your answers and your CV.
