Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

The newly established unit for open support offers flexible social support, support for relatives, family therapy, and individual parenting support. The unit is part of the first line of social services, and development work is underway here to create a clear entry point to social services where we help people find the right path based on their needs, regardless of their background. On the unit, there is one relative consultant, four social secretaries, three family therapists, and one unit manager. We are now further developing our support for relatives, including our own group activities and reaching more groups of relatives.

What we offer

An exciting assignment where you get to be involved in developing the work. You are offered competence development, supervision, and a wellness allowance. Read more here about Stockholm City's benefits.

Your role

As a relative consultant, you will primarily focus on relatives who do not have elderly persons as their dependents. Support for relatives has existed for a long time in the borough administration, but is now being developed in connection with the transition to the new social services as well as in accordance with the city's relative program.

Together with your colleague, you will develop the support for relatives, with a special focus on creating and leading group activities. In the discussion groups, there is an opportunity to meet other relatives, exchange experiences, and gain increased knowledge. The purpose of the interventions is for the relative to receive support to understand, handle, and change their situation, and to make it psychologically and socially easier for the relative. The role of relative consultant is under development.

Your tasks will include among other things:

  • providing guidance and interventions to relatives
  • leading group activities for support to relatives
  • developing support for relatives individually and in groups.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • a degree in social work or other relevant academic education that the employer deems suitable.
  • good Swedish in speech and writing.

The following are meritorious:

  • experience in leading group activities
  • experience in meeting relatives in your professional role
  • experience working within social services.

To succeed in the role, you need to be development-oriented and thrive with change where you are flexible and easily adjust your approach according to new circumstances. You like to think new thoughts, find solutions, and build up work methods and structures where everything is not yet in place. You feel secure in contexts that develop over time and want to be involved in shaping future work methods. We see that you are professional by distinguishing between the personal and the professional and are secure, stable, and have self-awareness. You are self-reliant and take responsibility for your work. As a relative consultant, you are expected to have pedagogical insight and understand how people absorb knowledge and based on their different prerequisites.

Other

Working hours are during daytime Monday-Friday with some evening duty in connection with group activities, to meet target groups who cannot be met during the day as well as to meet children, as we strive not to meet children during school hours.

We are recruiting without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only base ourselves on your CV and a number of questions you will answer in connection with applying for the position. We wish that you answer the questions concretely and concisely, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.

Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at looking at each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

Enskede Årsta Vantör is one of 11 borough administrations in Stockholm City. As part of Stockholm City, the administration offers preschool and leisure care, care for the elderly and disabled, social services, preventive and security-building work, urban development, and park maintenance to our 105,000 residents living in the borough area. We face exciting challenges as the Enskede Årsta Vantör borough area grows and entirely new neighborhoods are built. Approximately 18,000 new apartments are planned by 2030.

Open to all
We focus on your competence, not your other prerequisites. We are open to adapting the role or workplace according to your needs.
