Roslagen Culture School is looking for a piano teacher who wants to help develop the school's activities and the musical life in Norrtälje Municipality. We are looking for you who have a strong musical foundation in Afro-American music traditions such as jazz, gospel, soul, blues, R&B, funk, pop, and rock, and who wish to contribute to broadening and developing our piano teaching offerings.

Roslagen Culture School offers voluntary education in music, dance, art, and theatre. Within the music activities, there is instruction in instruments and ensembles, rock and pop groups, music production, folk music, and other creative expressions.

The school's activities cover the entire municipality, from Norrtälje to Hallstavik and Älmsta.

The Role

The teaching is aimed at children and young people from approximately 5 years of age up to upper secondary school level. The position primarily consists of group teaching in piano and keyboard, focusing on the joy of playing, creativity, ensemble playing, and musical development. Individual teaching is available for students who wish to deepen their skills and pursue their instrument with more focused goals.

The role includes ensemble leadership, concerts, projects, and collaborations within the culture school's activities.

What you need to bring

Requirements

• Appropriate university education or equivalent competence
• High instrumental level in piano/keyboard
• Documented experience of teaching in pop, rock, jazz, or related genres
• Experience of group teaching and an interest in developing group-based teaching methods
• Good ability to inspire and motivate students with different prerequisites and ambitions
• Valid driver's license (Category B)

Employment type, extent, and start date

• Employment type: Permanent
• Extent: 70%
• Start date: August 11, 2026

For this role, the starting salary is normally between 30,000 - 37,000 SEK, depending on experience and competence.

In the case of permanent employment, a probationary period may apply.
