About International English School Kista
International English School (IES) Kista is part of Sweden's largest and most successful network of bilingual schools, serving students in grades F–9. IES Kista has 640 students and 79 employees. We follow the Swedish curriculum (Lgr22), where up to 50% of the teaching takes place in English.

We are now looking for a certified special needs teacher in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) for grades 4–9.
About the Role
As a special needs teacher in SVA at IES Kista, you will play a key role in supporting and developing students' language skills so they can achieve their academic goals in all subjects.
The role includes:
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating special pedagogical interventions and teaching in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) for students in grades 4–9, both individually, in small groups, and through co-teaching in the classroom.
- Mapping, screening, and analyzing students' second language development, as well as identifying needs for additional adjustments and special support.
- Acting as a support and sounding board for subject teachers in working with language-developing approaches and differentiated instruction.
- Working according to IES core values: Command of the English language, A safe and orderly environment, and High academic expectations.
- Collaborating closely with other special needs teachers, teachers, and school leadership.
- Maintaining close dialogue with guardians regarding the student's language development and schooling.
Who Are You?
We are looking for you who are a confident leader with a deep understanding of multilingualism and second language acquisition. You have the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people and see opportunities and richness in a multicultural school environment. You are structured, analytical, and thrive in team settings.
Your qualifications:
- A teaching degree and teaching certification with eligibility as a special needs teacher and/or teacher in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) for grades 4–9.
- Good knowledge of current regulatory documents, mapping materials, and special pedagogical methods for second language students.
- Strong communication skills in both Swedish and English, as English is our common working language within the school.
- Experience working with secondary school students and familiarity with digital documentation tools for action plans and additional adjustments.
- Experience working in an international or bilingual environment is highly meritorious.
