Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
With Stockholm City as the employer, skilled teachers, teaching assistants, and other staff members make a real difference. In our schools, every student should have the opportunity to reach the peak of their potential. To get there, we need the absolute best employees.
Workplace Description
Eriksdalsskolan is a preschool to grade 9 school on Södermalm, close to both the city's pulse and beautiful natural areas. The school is buzzing with life with approximately 1,000 students in grades preschool to 9. We have approximately 120 teachers and 70 other staff members. At Eriksdalsskolan, all kinds of operations that can be found in a primary school within Stockholm City exist. We see diversity as a great strength. In addition to the primary school classes, there is a large adapted primary school and a CSU group here.
Our school is in an exciting phase where we work on school development with a focus on reading, language-developing methods, differentiated instruction, and assessment. We have implemented training initiatives within IT, language-developing methods, and LGBTQ+. We are an LGBTQ+-certified school, which we are very proud of. Together, the school's teachers have developed good meeting structures for joint planning and collegial development in joint conferences for staff across the entire school from a preschool to grade 9 perspective.
Job Description
We are now looking for a teaching assistant for our CSU group. CSU is Stockholm City's municipal special education groups. We receive students from all over Stockholm Municipality, and this operation has high special pedagogical competence. As a teaching assistant with us, you work with and support both groups and individual students during the school day. When teaching takes place in other premises, you accompany the students there. You also work during the students' breaks, meal times, and at the after-school center linked to the operation. The work team consists of teaching assistants, resource teachers, after-school pedagogues, teachers, special educators, and speech therapists.
The position is a permanent employment.
Qualifications
Requirement of upper secondary education; adequate further education is meritorious.
Training in clarifying pedagogy and training on how to meet students with challenging behaviors is meritorious.
You have long and broad experience working with students in need of special support, especially students with autism and ADHD. You have a great interest and experience in special pedagogical work within speech and language.
Since our students have challenges within communication, you are required to be fluent in Swedish in both speech and writing. Since we also have English-speaking students, you also need to master English well.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and your ability to:
- Lead and organize the work to create security in the classroom and outside
- Support and encourage students to communicate and use spoken language
- Listen, communicate, and collaborate well with others
- Adapt and relate to different situations so that you can make quick decisions and act accordingly
- Reflect on the work both individually and together with others.
Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
