About the job
The principal's area of Näsbypark School consists of three schools: Slottsparksskolan (grades F-3), Norskolan (grades F-3), Näsbyparksskolan (grades 4-9), and Näsbypark Resource School (grades 4-9). Näsbypark Resource School conducts its teaching in a separate part of Näsbypark School. The school is beautifully located with proximity to both the sea and green areas. There are good communication options by bus or Roslagsbanan, both alternatives just a stone's throw away.
As a special needs teacher with us, you drive and develop teaching together with students, colleagues, and school leadership. You work actively for a school where everyone is included in the operations. In this position, you will have the chance to continue building the operations and influence to give students the very best opportunities for a good education.
The principal's area of Näsbypark School is now looking for an experienced and engaged special needs teacher or special educator for the resource school – preferably with specific competence and experience of work in similar operations. You will become an important part of the school's student health and the special educational working group. The resource school has a special focus on students with neuropsychiatric disabilities where there is extra staff support as well as adaptations of teaching and premises. As a special needs teacher, you will become an important part of the work to get students to succeed in their schooling.
Who are you?
We want you who apply for the position to:
- have teacher certification and be educated as a special needs teacher, preferably with a focus on grades 4-9
- have experience working with children with NPD (Neuropsychiatric Disorders) diagnoses
- be well acquainted with the steering documents related to teaching and the special educational mission within the school
- be secure in your professional role and have a good ability and willingness to switch between work at the individual, group, and organizational levels
- have experience leading small group teaching as well as working individually with students
- have experience mentoring colleagues on issues regarding problem-causing behaviors, school difficulties, as well as didactic and pedagogical methods for successful teaching
- work close to students but are also skilled in documentation
- are solution-focused and put the students' best interests first
- are a collaborative link between students, other staff, and school leadership
- previous work in a resource school is meritorious
As a person, you are structured, well-planned, and inspiring in your work with students and colleagues. You are collaboration-oriented and interested in contributing to the professional development of the operations. You have the ability to plan and organize both your own work and the students' work in an effective way and create a trusting learning climate where all students are heard.
We would like you to have worked as a special needs teacher for a few years, but newly graduated special needs teachers are also welcome to apply for the position.
