Job Description
We are now looking for a school social worker (half-time) for Lorensborgsskolan, responsible for grades Pre-K to 6 as well as the adapted primary school. As a school social worker, you work in a promoting and preventive capacity together with your colleagues in the student health team. You are responsible, among other things, for our equal treatment work and have a special responsibility for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective. You will also actively participate in and assist school leadership in school development work. With your competence, you ensure that appropriate interventions for students in need of adjustments and special support from a social and psychosocial perspective are considered and offered. Furthermore, you work to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels, focusing on student health, learning, development, and working environment. Your role also includes working towards an equitable learning environment that gives our students the best conditions to achieve knowledge goals and personal development optimally. You will become part of the student health professions at Lorensborgsskolan, which consists of special educators/special teachers and school nurses, together with school leadership. You work closely with the work team to support each student's development towards their goals.
In addition to the above, your duties include, among other things:
- Contributing knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, development, etc.
- Conducting school social assessments and social evaluations when necessary.
- Offering supervision, consultation, and advice to school staff from a social perspective.
- Collaborating with students, guardians, school staff, and external actors when necessary regarding interventions for students.
- Cooperating with authorities and agencies in preventive work concerning the school or the City of Malmö.
For us, collaboration is a prerequisite for both success and well-being. You work actively and preventively to create the best conditions for our students from a social and psychosocial perspective.
Qualifications
You have a degree in Social Work and at least two years of experience working with children and young people. We prefer that you have experience working as a school social worker. You have good insight into the school's goals and governing documents, knowledge of other departments, and for example, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP/CAMHS), as well as knowledge of practice and guidelines within the field. As a person, you are flexible, non-hierarchical, and solution-focused. You adapt easily to situations and ensure that things get done, big or small. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to build trusting relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians. Furthermore, you work proactively and independently develop your methods and approaches based on your assignment and to achieve your goals.
