DUTIES

The Personal Representative offers support to people living with mental disabilities. In the role of Personal Representative, you work together with and on behalf of the client to identify needs and find suitable solutions. You provide support in contacts with authorities and other societal actors, assist with applications for various interventions, and accompany the client to, for example, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, healthcare providers, and municipal operations when needed.

The work aims to strengthen the individual's opportunities for a more independent life and improved quality of life. An important part of the assignment is also to work towards ensuring the client has access to rehabilitation, work, or other meaningful activities.

The position also involves identifying and documenting deficiencies in society's support and service systems that may prevent the client's needs from being met. These identified systemic deficiencies are reported to the County Administrative Board and the National Board of Health and Welfare.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a university education, such as a social worker, in behavioral science, or another area that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience in meeting and supporting people with mental disabilities, as well as a good understanding of their needs and life situation. You also have knowledge of relevant legislation and familiarity with the support measures and services offered by society.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with people with mental disabilities and have knowledge of recovery-oriented work. Experience in contacting authorities and the ability to navigate current laws, regulations, and policy documents are also seen as meritorious.

As a person, you are empathetic and professional in your approach. You easily create trusting relationships, are sensitive to others' needs, and work with both humility and engagement. You thrive in a varied job where you can take initiative and responsibility. At the same time, you have a good ability to collaborate and build long-term relationships with both clients and other actors.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and suitability for the assignment.

A driver's license (Category B) is a requirement for the position.
