Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also operates secure youth care facilities. We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers a challenging and exciting career. SiS LVM-hem Lunden receives women with alcohol, drug, or poly-substance abuse issues. We support clients with mental health challenges and those requiring medical nursing care. Our facility is located in Lund.

 

Job Description

Do you want to contribute to life-changing changes for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified nursing and motivational work, providing support in daily life. Leveraging your knowledge in care and treatment, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is a key part of your job, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to a smooth daily routine with activities, walks, cooking, etc. Contact person responsibilities are also part of your duties. The role may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

 

We are expanding our team with several new employees.

Working hours are according to a schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's 10-week basic training. The course alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

 

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with both young people and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or a university education we deem equivalent.
  • Category B driver's license.
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits

  • Experience working within SiS.
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care.
  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Prison Officer.
  • Security guard training.
  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., case officer at the Detention Center.
  • Education in care and nursing.
  • Experience working with our target group.

Employment:

 

The positions are permanent full-time employment, starting with a six-month probation period. Preference for start date is October 1st.

 

The application deadline is July 5, 2026, and we plan to conduct interviews in July and August.

We have mandatory internal training sessions on September 23-24 - full days.
