Job Responsibilities

As a Social Pedagogue, you are responsible for strengthening students in their social development. You have a particularly student-oriented role where you actively work on building relationships and serve as a support for students in their daily school environment. You are a secure adult figure, primarily serving as extra support in the classroom, but also in and around the school premises during breaks. You work preventively and remedially against harassment and bullying, while actively ensuring that all students feel included, safe, and able to achieve their set goals. Through conversations and projects, you motivate, support, and create security for the student at school and in their studies. Together with the school counselor, mentor, or on your own, you conduct mediation talks and other remedial measures for students. Furthermore, your workdays include structured collaboration with other school staff, particularly teachers and student health services.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• A post-secondary education relevant to the position, comprising at least two years of full-time studies (120 ECTS credits or a two-year vocational education).
• Previous experience in similar work.
• Good understanding of the school's goals and quality work.
• Good digital competence.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Experience working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF).
• Experience working with children and young people with challenging behavior.

As a Social Pedagogue, you handle complex issues and find solutions that promote security, inclusion, and well-being for students. You have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites and adapt your approach to the individual's needs. Furthermore, you are flexible, see opportunities in change, and use new information to develop support measures. Through a relationship-building and inclusive working style, you build trust and collaborate with students, colleagues, and other professions. You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
