Job Responsibilities
As a psychologist in Child and Parent Health, the role involves individual- and family-oriented interventions, covering both primary preventive and indicated treatment interventions. The tasks consist of independent, qualified treatment, assessment, and investigation work for children aged zero to six, parents, and expectant parents.
The psychologists' assignments are characterized by high accessibility and high psychological competence regarding parenthood and the development of young children in interaction with their surroundings. The psychologists' efforts aim in various ways to strengthen the interaction between the child and the parent, as well as to promote health and prevent, detect, and treat mental illness that affects parenting. Consultation for parents experiencing problems in parenting is part of the psychologist's role, as are developmental assessments when there is concern about significantly delayed general development.
We primarily work through consultations at the clinic, but visits to various facilities for, for example, consultations or group parent education may also be included. We also work remotely with telephone counseling and video calls. The clinical work is based on a salutogenic approach.

As a psychologist in Child and Parent Health, the ability to work independently and good teamwork skills are required, as the work includes independent assessment and treatment work, team-based assessments in collaboration with other relevant health care personnel, as well as supervision and consultation.
