The Maxillofacial Surgery Unit (VE) belongs to the Specialized Surgery division at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) and currently operates in Lund, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad. We are a region-spanning organization, jointly driving and developing maxillofacial surgery services across the entire spectrum of the specialty. This provides us with a varied and educational work environment.

We serve a patient catchment area from the entire Southern Healthcare Region in Sweden. Additionally, we are connected to the Regional Cancer Centre, where patients undergo both treatment and rehabilitation. Furthermore, we specialize in advanced temporomandibular joint surgery and are also Sweden's largest orthognathic surgery center. We work with a strong focus on patient care quality, ensuring that patients feel secure and well-prepared both before and after surgery. In addition to elective procedures, we also handle a flow of acute patients, such as those with jaw and facial fractures as well as odontogenic infections.

Our unit continuously works to develop our competence within the organization. We are at the forefront of maxillofacial surgical methods and are building knowledge on new technology, such as 3D planning for orthognathic surgery. The Maxillofacial Surgery Section has been region-spanning since September 1, 2014, with operations in Lund, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad.

With extensive knowledge, experience, and competence, we ensure that patients receive the best possible care. Our team includes maxillofacial surgeons, orthodontists, orthodontic assistants, surgical dental nurses, nursing assistants, receptionists, and medical secretaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome you as a Dental Nurse to VE Maxillofacial Surgery Skåne, located in Kristianstad. As a Surgical Dental Nurse, you will assist our maxillofacial surgeons in various procedures at the clinic, our outpatient surgical department, and the main central operating theater. If you are a newly graduated dental nurse, you will be assigned a mentor who will follow you and provide support.

Working hours are Monday to Wednesday between 07:30 and 17:00, Thursday between 07:30 and 16:00, and Friday between 07:30 and 12:30.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a dental nursing degree with a strong interest in maxillofacial surgery. Additionally, you must have good proficiency in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Having a surgical dental nursing education or experience working in maxillofacial surgery is meritorious. Previous experience from general or specialist dentistry is also considered an advantage.
