Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to work at a workplace where the child is at the center, and where you are constantly learning new things? Then you are welcome to join our wonderful team at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Ward 1 in Malmö!

Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Ward 1 is part of the Business Area (VO) Pediatrics. The ward has 21 care beds and treats children and adolescents between 0 and 18 years of age with a wide range of diagnoses. The patient groups we most commonly treat are within general pediatrics, specifically gastroenterology and endocrinology/diabetes, but we also treat patients within plastic surgery, surgery, and orthopedics.

At our ward, we work in teams, where each nurse and pediatric nurse/assistant nurse is jointly responsible for a group of patients. We collaborate extensively across professional boundaries in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Nordic Standard for Children and Young People in Health Care (NOBAB), to provide the best possible care based on the needs of each child and family. We are proud of our work on the ward and our pleasant work group where laughter is never far away. We believe small progress is worth celebrating, and an open climate where everyone can ask questions and receive support is second nature to us.

Even though the pace is sometimes high, we find time for reflection and contemplation. We have fixed training days in our schedules.

Job Responsibilities

We welcome a nurse for day and evening shifts to join us at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in Malmö!

As a nurse here, you will work in an stimulating environment where the child and family are always at the center. Working with acutely ill children, aged 0 to 18, differs from standard care because the entire family is involved. The ability to collaborate with parents and involve them in the care is an essential and exciting part of our work. In your role, you assess the need for and perform pediatric nursing care, collaborating closely with your colleagues on the ward. The ward handles both emergency and planned admissions, and the variety of diagnoses leads to varying lengths of stay.

As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experience and wishes. We continuously work on competence development through regular training days, CPR and emergency drills, as well as opportunities for observation. To promote participation and engagement, and thereby develop the unit, there is an opportunity to participate in or lead areas of responsibility during allocated working hours.

For newly graduated nurses, we offer a cross-business training program conducted over one year within pediatric care, including group nursing supervision. The training program includes in-depth knowledge of both healthy and sick children, as well as specialization within the broad field of pediatrics. The program comprises ten full days.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with eligibility to practice in Swedish healthcare. You also have Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Specialist competence in a relevant area and/or previous experience in pediatric care are meritorious for the position.

As a person, you contribute with your knowledge and willingness to collaborate. You thrive in a work environment where the pace can change quickly, and you find joy in working with children and adolescents. Common to the Business Area Pediatrics is that we strive to be a team that sees, helps, and understands each other. We assume that everyone does their best, and the work is characterized by a positive attitude where we have direct communication and praise each other. To succeed in the position, you must also have the ability to adapt to new situations and a desire to work in a team. Personal suitability is given great weight.

An extract from the suspicion and burden register will be made upon any employment.

We warmly welcome your application. We look forward to receiving your application and getting to know you!
