Åsele is a perfectly located place between the coast and the mountains in Southern Lapland. At Åsele Municipality, we consider it natural that our residents' daily lives function smoothly, for example by delivering water and heat, plowing roads, taking good care of our elderly, and educating primary school children. We make a difference for everyone who lives, visits, and works in Åsele.
Åsele Municipality encompasses a 4,235 km² area of beautiful nature, including over fifty nature reserves and a national park. During winter, the area serves as reindeer grazing land for two Sami communities. What attracts visitors to Åsele, besides nature and outdoor activities, is the historic Åsele Market, one of Sweden's largest summer markets.
Åsele Municipality (Sjeltien tjïelte in Southern Sami) is a Sami administrative area, and knowledge of the Sami language is an advantage in certain professions.
Do you want to help develop Åsele – the inland countryside of the future?
Social Secretary for Elderly SoL/LSS
We are looking for someone interested in working in a smaller administration, which means varied tasks in a small team and close contact with clients, colleagues, and other partners. Åsele Municipality is now seeking a case manager.
Responsibilities
As a social secretary for the elderly within SoL/LSS, you will receive applications, investigate needs, make decisions, and follow up on your cases in close contact with the user, relatives, and others in the user's network. Your role also includes informing about the authority's tasks and interventions, current legislation, and the user's rights.
Within the unit, we investigate applications according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Functional Impairments (LSS). Our work is characterized by a clear user perspective with a strong focus on individual participation.
The needs of our target group can vary greatly; we meet those who live at home and only need support occasionally per week, to those who live in housing with access to staff support around the clock. The work offers a high degree of variation where you might conduct a follow-up in someone's home one moment, and participate in a SIP meeting the next. In between, you spend time at the office documenting and collaborating with your colleagues.
We work in a complex operation with occasionally high tempo, and you need to be someone who can independently plan your work to meet the operation's needs.
The authority strives to be transparent towards the users we meet and fulfill our service obligation, while being legally secure and efficient in our case handling.
Qualifications
Social work degree, social care line, or other education deemed equivalent. We preferably see that you have work experience within public administration. Experience working with the elderly target group is an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Social Services Act and adjacent areas. To succeed in the role, we believe you are flexible and able to see solutions in the challenges you face. You can work independently but are also a natural team player. You are professional and have good verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of IBIC and the operational program Life Care is an advantage. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
A Category B driver's license is required.
We offer you continuous supervision, flexible working hours, and wellness benefits.
Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
We decline contact from recruitment and staffing agencies as well as advertising salespeople.
