The Department of Finance and Planning is responsible for the university's finances, planning functions, and procurement. The department's mission is to work with both ongoing operational activities and with development and strategic issues within its areas of responsibility. The department consists of the units Accounting and Business Economics and a support staff. The role of Business Controller is located within the department's support staff. The department operates at Mittuniversitetet's campuses in both Östersund and Sundsvall.

Job Description

You will work to develop the operations and its capabilities based on assignments, vision, and strategy by:

• Managing, improving, and developing the university's governance and follow-up systems.
• Supporting managers and leadership in developing operations, for example by supporting the planning and follow-up processes.
• In investigative assignments, mapping, analyzing, and proposing measures and actions.

Your Background

We are looking for you who have the following qualifications:

• A relevant university degree.
• Several years of experience in governance, follow-up, and development work at a central level.
• Good knowledge of internal control and governance.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent ability to communicate in both spoken and written Swedish and English, for example, in formulating decision-support documents or investigative reports at a high level.

Experience from the higher education sector or other public administration is advantageous.

You are a positive person who sees opportunities and alternative courses of action in complex and challenging situations. As a person, you should be proactive and development-oriented, accustomed to taking personal responsibility, while also being receptive, having good teamwork skills, and a non-hierarchical attitude. It is also important that you are structured and driven by being involved in developing operations.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and your ability to collaborate within the team.

Employment and Start Date

The employment is a permanent full-time position. The start date is August 24, 2026, or as agreed.
