Summer Substitute Position – Social Treatment Pedagogue for Residential Care Home in Southern Dalarna

Organization Description:
Dormsjöskolan is a Residential Care Home (HVB) for boys aged 7–23.
We are located in Southern Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and operate our own independent school. Here, children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, close to a lovely swimming lake and exciting forests. The environment offers opportunities for fun activities and quiet moments, along with supportive adults to rely on.
Target Group:
Boys with neuropsychiatric disabilities, as well as social and emotional challenges.
We have licenses for 28 placements. The license covers placements under the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS).
Job Description:
The foundation of our approach is to create predictability and routines in a structured environment by providing a clear, recurring structure to the day, week, and year.
We assess the abilities and difficulties of the children and young people. This assessment, combined with the care plan, forms the basis for an implementation plan tailored to the individual child’s or young person’s needs.
The work primarily involves therapeutic and motivational efforts. Personal care is also part of the duties.
The goal is to help the children and young people achieve an independent life with successful schooling.
The therapeutic work is individualized based on each child’s or young person’s specific needs and conditions.
We use methods such as social skills training, anger management, low-arousal approaches, comic strip conversations, social stories, and visual aids.
We are looking for someone who:
Is creative, enjoys physical activity, and is passionate about working with children and young people with special needs. You excel at building trusting and positive relationships.
The role requires you to be secure, solution-focused, resilient under stress, and patient.
Additional Information:
Education: A degree in Social Treatment Pedagogy or equivalent education is preferred.
A police certificate (extract from the criminal record and suspicion register) is required upon employment.
