I am a 44-year-old man with a high spinal cord injury. This means I am paralyzed from the neck down and require ventilator support for my breathing. I am tracheostomized and receive my medication and fluids via a PEG tube. I communicate through head nods/shakes, as well as miming or speaking with Leakspeech. I also have an eye-controlled computer with text-to-speech functionality, and a fiancée who can interpret.

I am looking for a wonderful team of assistants who can help me with my daily tasks, hygiene, and exercise. I have double assistance around the clock.

I live together with my fiancée and our two dogs, so you cannot be allergic to fur or afraid of dogs.

I am looking for you who have a big heart, education in care and social services, are stress-resistant, and most importantly – have a sense of humor. Laughter is good for the soul! You should have some thick skin and be willing to take initiative.

Working as a personal assistant for me involves significant responsibility – both medically, physically, and socially. For us both to feel secure, a criminal record extract will be requested before employment.

A prerequisite for starting an employment with us at SAAND Assistans is that you, as the applicant, can present a valid ID and any documents proving your right to work in Sweden. To work as a personal assistant, you must be at least 18 years old.

According to legislation, we as employers are required to request a register extract from all employees who are to work as personal assistants for a child under 18 years of age. To ensure the safety of our clients at SAAND Assistans, we obtain extracts from the criminal record register for all those we hire. Therefore, you need to present a certificate of good conduct from the police prior to any potential employment.
