Are you a licensed biomedical laboratory scientist seeking a varied and stimulating position with diverse tasks? Then the Emergency Laboratory at Karlskoga Hospital might be the right workplace for you!
Our operations cover Clinical Chemistry, Transfusion Medicine, sample collection, as well as blood and plasma donation. We work on a rotation schedule because our operations run 24/7, 365 days a year. At the laboratory, you rotate between different workstations based on your qualifications, creating significant variation in your tasks and giving you the opportunity to develop broad competence. We also offer good opportunities for specialization and competence development within our various areas of operation. We are a team of 23 employees with broad competence and varying experiences. Together, we create a work environment characterized by collaboration, engagement, and well-being.
Job ResponsibilitiesAs a biomedical laboratory scientist with us, you work independently with laboratory tasks, where your main responsibilities include analysis, assessment, and technical approval of samples in the areas of clinical chemistry, immunochemistry, hematology, coagulation, PNA, and transfusion medicine. We also have a sample collection clinic where you perform both venous and capillary sampling on patients.
QualificationsWe are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical laboratory scientist.
You work in a structured manner, both independently and in teams, are responsible and flexible, and treat colleagues, patients, and customers with respect. You prioritize effectively, are quality-conscious, and actively contribute to the development of the operations. You thrive with varied tasks and can handle both high-intensity and low-intensity situations in a calm and structured manner. It is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
Since the laboratory is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, you are expected to be flexible and willing to work according to a shift schedule. Previous experience in laboratory work is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as good customer service, sense of responsibility, teamwork skills, and quality awareness.

About the OperationsThe Laboratory Medicine operational area has a consolidated responsibility for the laboratory medicine service provided at the laboratories within Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. At Karlskoga Hospital, we operate in the areas of clinical chemistry, sample collection, transfusion medicine including therapeutic plasma-apheresis treatment, and at ÖUH also bacteriology, virology, immunology, pathology, cytology, and molecular genetics. The operational area also includes Sterile Technology. The clinic consists of nearly 300 people with routine diagnostics, research and development, as well as education.
Karlskoga Hospital is one of Region Örebro County's three emergency hospitals. We who work at Karlskoga Hospital are proud of our hospital.
