We are looking for a nurse who wants to work in a learning climate where we are positive about ideas and development. Here you have the opportunity to grow and develop as a nurse within highly specialized neurology and neurosurgery.
Job ResponsibilitiesAs a nurse, you play a central role in the emergency chain "Save the Brain", where you, in collaboration with neurologists and nursing assistants, receive the patient directly from the ambulance in the radiology department for acute treatment with thrombolysis and/or thrombectomy.
We receive both intra- and inter-county patients for neurological and neurosurgical care. Ward 92 has 16 care beds distributed across two care teams and an observation ward. As a nurse, you rotate between the care teams and the observation ward, which gives you varied work and opportunities for competence development. You work in interprofessional teams consisting of nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, counselors, and dietitians.
Working as a nurse gives you a broad range of nursing and medical skills, as stroke and TIA affect the whole person. Here you meet both older and younger patients. Here you will work with, among other things, specific neurological monitoring, medical technical equipment, respiratory care, tube management, and nutritional care, close nursing, and neurorehabilitation.
We offer you:- Five weeks of induction, adapted to you as an individual.
- Internal training and a learning climate where we are positive about ideas and suggestions.
- Mentorship during your first year.
- Stroke competence training at Umeå University.
Licensed nurse. Experience from emergency care or inpatient care is meritorious, but even you who are newly graduated are welcome to apply. As a person, you are secure and stable. You are clear, flexible, and good at collaborating. You show care for the patients and their relatives and are a good colleague. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
