About the position

As an assistant nurse at Karlslund Home Care, you perform and participate in support, service, and nursing interventions. This is to support and participate in the client's daily life. Here you have an important role in contributing to an easier daily life for our clients. In your daily work, you plan, carry out, and follow up on various interventions. The tasks may include providing support, service, and nursing through cleaning, laundry, personal hygiene, and shopping. You are also responsible for documentation as well as creating, implementing, and following up on care plans for the clients.

We work in teams consisting of assistant nurses, care assistants, service assistants, nurses, and occupational therapists. Our clients' care needs vary, but regardless of what they need help with, we are there as support in their daily lives. As an assistant nurse with us, you do the little extra for your colleagues and for our clients, and you have an insight into being one of the most important people in our clients' daily lives.

Examples of duties:

• Perform nursing tasks and, based on delegation, handle medication.
• Perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
• Create and follow goal plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the client.
• Collaborate with relatives and others in the client's network, such as nurses and occupational therapists.
• Document regularly in the organization's documentation system and review existing documentation.
• Create and follow up on care plans.
• Have knowledge of and follow the organization's current laws, policies, and routines.

About the workplace

At Karlslund Home Care, we are approximately 30 employees divided into two groups. One group operates from Karlslundsgården and works primarily in the Solhaga area. The other group operates from Vintrosahemmet and works primarily in the Tysslinge area. Together we form a team and work across boundaries when needed. The unit has approximately 100 clients who have daily or weekly visits, as well as approx. 50 clients with safety alarms. The geographical coverage area varies, hence both a service car and bicycle are used in the job. It is therefore important that you, as an applicant, feel confident driving a car, cycling, and using GPS.

We also have a collaboration with Haga, Eker, and Vivalla/Axberg Home Care. This means that staff at our unit sometimes work "across boundaries." This means that you as an employee may temporarily be loaned to one of these home care units if needed.

The Care and Social Services area is part of the Social Administration. The operations cover care and social services, preventive activities, authority functions in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the Care and Social Services area, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or social services in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As an assistant nurse with us, you are a reliable and stable person. You have the ability to meet clients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Being responsible for your tasks is second nature to you. You collaborate well with other people and relate to them in a listening and flexible way. Furthermore, you have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each individual's unique needs. Additionally, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can communicate with the client and other staff, as well as document in writing what the organization requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in the organization's systems, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Certificate of protected professional title, or covered by transition rules (permanent assistant nurse on July 1, 2023).
• Category B driver's license.
• Ability to cycle.

Merits:

Additional information

From July 1, 2023, "assistant nurse" is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as an assistant nurse. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. However, if you had a permanent position as an assistant nurse on July 1, 2023, you are allowed to continue using the title.
