About the Employer
The Foundation for Object Conservation (Stiftelsen Föremålsvård) is a government foundation tasked with the care and conservation of museum objects, books, and archives, as well as the digitization of photographic material and documents. Through this work, we contribute to the preservation of Sweden's tangible cultural heritage. We specialize in archaeological metal conservation, paper conservation, and the digitization of collections within central cultural heritage institutions. We work in close collaboration with museums, archives, and other cultural heritage organizations.
Responsibilities
As Head of Department, you have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and monitoring the department's operations in accordance with the foundation's mission and goals. You are part of the foundation's management team and report directly to the Director.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and developing the department's work.
- Responsibility for personnel, economy, and working environment.
- Planning, prioritizing, and monitoring the department's assignments and projects.
- Ensuring quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance in operations.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners.
- Contributing to strategic development and long-term planning within the foundation.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A relevant academic degree, for example in cultural heritage or another education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Documented experience in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong ability to lead and motivate employees.
- Experience in change and development work.
- Experience in quality assurance work.
- Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in preserving tangible cultural heritage (e.g., conservation, digitization).
- Experience in government or publicly funded operations.

Other Information
This is a full-time position, with a possible 6-month probationary period. We offer individual salary setting. The appointment is subject to necessary approvals. We conduct rolling recruitment, meaning the position may be filled before the application deadline.
