The Employment Unit has an important societal mission – to support and guide individuals who are outside the regular labor market towards self-sufficiency through work or studies. The unit comprises seven different workplaces with varying focuses. We are also responsible for the reception and settlement of newly arrived refugees assigned to Gällivare. The municipality's summer jobs for young people, as well as the municipal activity responsibility for young people who do not complete their upper secondary education, are also tasks under the Employment Unit. As Unit Manager, you will play a central role in developing the operations and creating good conditions for both employees and participants.

Job Responsibilities

As Unit Manager, you have overall responsibility for the operations, which includes:

• Responsibility for personnel, budget, and working environment
• Leading, supporting, and developing employees in their daily work
• Ensuring quality and goal achievement within the operations
• Handling administrative tasks, such as financial follow-ups and planning
• Collaborating and following up on measures together with referring parties
• Conducting workplace meetings and promoting a good working environment
• Being a support and sounding board for employees in complex cases

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

Have a university degree in fields such as social work, behavioral science, or another direction that the employer deems relevant for the position. Have experience working with individuals who have physical and/or mental limitations. Have documented experience in leadership and good leadership qualities. Have strong administrative skills and are accustomed to working with follow-ups, economy, and are computer literate. Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

To succeed in the role, you are a secure, engaged, solution-oriented, and clear leader who is communicative and team-oriented. You are structured with good prioritization skills and are receptive with a genuine interest in people. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Hold a valid B-driver's license.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent position. Probationary period may apply.

Monthly salary. We apply individual salary setting, and we ask that you state your salary requirements in your application.
