About the workplace

Furuboda Assistans is a private personal assistance provider in southern Sweden with roots in the non-profit Furuboda Association. The company was established in 2005 and is a growing business. Currently, Furuboda Assistans consists of approximately 700 employees. We strive to be a role model in sustainable business. We are now looking for an engaged team of personal assistants for one of our clients – a lively 16-year-old girl with great humor and zest for life. Since this is a new assignment, we are looking for you who want to be involved from the start and create a secure and structured daily life for the client.

About the assignment

The client is a teenage girl who lives with her family in Vallåkra. She is granted 24-hour assistance, except during school hours on weekdays from 08:00–14:00.

We are currently looking for hourly substitutes where shifts are scheduled during the summer holiday from 07:30–07:30. When the client starts school in the autumn, the times will be from 14:30–07:30, when she is picked up by the school bus in the morning.

Communication takes place primarily through signs and pictures, which requires you as an assistant to be perceptive and attentive. The client is in great need of clear routines so that her daily life is secure and predictable.

Your tasks

Your focus is to be a professional support. This means help with personal hygiene, meals, and daily chores, but above all, to enable an active and meaningful leisure time. Two of the client's great interests are singing and swimming, making visits to the swimming pool a recurring and appreciated part of the routine.

Qualifications

To fit the role, the following are requirements:

• Experience with or interest in PECS (TAKK): It is highly meritorious if you have experience with PECS and picture support. With the right personality, we can offer introduction, but you must have a genuine interest in learning the client's way of communicating.
• Driver's License (Category B): To be able to drive the client to activities and to easily get to the workplace at the client's home.
• Good swimming skills: Since swimming is a central activity, you must be confident in the water and able to physically support the client in the pool.

Personal qualities

We are looking for you who are secure, punctual, and very structured. You have a ready laugh and are not afraid to show yourself – perhaps by joining in a song! You understand the importance of being a professional pillar in a private home environment.
