Do you want to become a Teaching Assistant during the autumn term 2026? We are looking for up to 10 hourly-paid teaching assistants who want to contribute to the teaching on our courses!

About the job

We are looking for up to ten hourly-paid teaching assistants who, as needed and by agreement, will assist course coordinators in courses within statistics and machine learning during Autumn Term 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The assignments are flexible and distributed by agreement. You can work with classic statistics courses – from basic statistics to more advanced courses, as well as courses in ML. The tasks may include supervision during laboratory sessions, calculation workshops, Q&A sessions, and grading of assignments. It may also be possible to work with the development of course material. This is an opportunity to develop your pedagogical skills, deepen your knowledge, and gain valuable experience.

About you

To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a university-level program at either basic or advanced level.

A requirement for employment is that you can demonstrate documented good grades in subject-specific courses within the areas covered by the relevant courses.

Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you are studying at Linköping University.

Your workplace

The Department of Computer and Information Science (IDA) was founded in 1983, but our roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in Northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of areas, from basic computer science to applied fields. The extensive research also influences our undergraduate and doctoral education, leading us to offer courses within several civil engineering and university engineering programs, as well as programs in innovative programming, cognitive science, and statistics. You will work together with one or more teachers in the division https://liu.se/organisation/liu/ida/stima (https://liu.se/organisation/liu/ida/stima) to support students in statistics and/or ML.

About the employment

The extent of the tasks and the start date are determined by agreement.

An employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Salary and benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistant salaries. The employment is hourly paid.
