Description
Do you want to work at a day activity centre with a unique focus on sports, exercise, and outdoor life? We are looking for someone who enjoys physical activity and has the ability to work in a structured and individualized manner with our participants.
Meningsfull Omsorg AB operates day activities under the LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) for person group 1, targeting adults with autism and developmental disabilities. Our facility is located in Täby, within walking distance of Täby Centre, the Roslagsbanan train line, and bus connections.
Our approach is a sensory-stimulating activity with a health-promoting focus. Our content is built around outdoor life, sports, and exercise throughout the year. Physical activity is a constant element carried out both indoors and outdoors. Examples of activities include ball games, swimming, obstacle courses, athletics, and walks, all adapted to each individual's needs. Therefore, it is an advantage if you enjoy physical activity yourself. We also offer training in daily life activities, such as packing a swim bag independently, helping in the kitchen, tidying up, and handling recycling.
Job Responsibilities
Our focus is on creating the best possible environment for our participants. Your main task is to motivate and assist participants during the day's activities.
Our mission is to adapt ourselves and our activities to the needs and abilities of each individual participant. We provide the support that the individual feels they need to participate in society, achieve their own goals, and develop based on their prerequisites. As an employee, you work by being attentive and showing genuine interest in what the individual expresses and desires. Our work with participants is based on a structured approach, clear pedagogy (visual support), low-affective interaction, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Your duties involve supporting and challenging participants to develop and reach their individual goals in a tailored manner. A significant part of the job involves finding and planning meaningful activities in the local area and within our own facility, such as walks, swimming, ball games, and outdoor activities.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have completed upper secondary school (gymnasium) with a focus on childcare and recreation, and/or have experience as a support assistant.
Experience working with this target group is highly meritorious, as is experience in performing sports. Familiarity with low-affective interaction, clear pedagogy, and AAC is also valued.
Requirements include good oral and written skills in Swedish and computer literacy.
We prefer that you hold a valid B-category driver's license.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who gains energy from physical activity, is confident in themselves and their professional role, accustomed to taking responsibility, and has a solution-oriented mindset. Supporting people with special needs to succeed and develop is something you are passionate about. You have a genuine commitment to the target group, good self-awareness, and strong collaboration and communication skills. You are inventive, driven, and contribute to a positive social climate with both participants and colleagues.
