At the Education Administration in Järfälla Municipality, approximately 3,100 employees work across our 39 preschools, 22 schools, upper secondary schools, adult education, and central administration. Skälbyskolan is a municipal primary school (grades F-6) with a total of approximately 600 students located in the southern part of Järfälla Municipality. The school is characterized by a positive and safe environment with dedicated staff and good goal achievement among our students. We actively work to maintain a school and after-school center where both students and educators thrive and feel safe. We all help each other to create good conditions for our students' learning in an stimulating work environment. Responsibilities

Are you a driven and confident social worker who wants to make a real difference? Do you want to help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating school experience for our students? Then we might be looking for you!

As a school counselor with us, you play a central role in the students' daily lives. Your focus lies primarily on promotional and preventive work that contributes to the students' psychosocial health and strengthens their opportunities to achieve good academic results.

You work closely with our students, both through individual support conversations and in work with groups and classes. The role is broad and offers great variation, where you are expected to, among other things:

  • Be a key person in the school's Student Health Team (SHT).
  • Lead the school's equal treatment group and drive the work against bullying and harassment.
  • Be responsible for mapping and following up on student school absenteeism in close collaboration with mentors and guardians.
  • Offer supervision and consultation to the school's teachers and other staff on psychosocial issues.
  • Collaborate with external actors such as social services, field operations, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), and other relevant authorities.

In addition to the work at the school unit, you will also belong to a professional group with the municipality's other school counselors.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a social work degree (or other education that the employer considers equivalent) and who have experience working with children and young people, preferably within the school context.

As a person, you are relationship-building, proactive, and have a good ability to collaborate with both young people and adults. You are confident in your professional role, have a professional approach, and work to create a safe learning environment where every student is seen. You have in-depth competence regarding psychosocial factors and see the student in their entire social context.

It is important that you have the ability to work independently and collaborate in teams, as well as a good ability to collaborate with other societal actors such as social services and BUP.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities such as social competence, flexibility, and collaboration skills.
