Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Those of us who work in the children's units have a great commitment to the families we meet and the area we operate in. The opportunity to meet people from all over the world in our work is experienced as both developing and rewarding.
Within Social Services for Children and Young People, there are two children's units working with children aged 0–12. The operations are led by a district manager. Each unit consists of a unit manager and two group leaders who together support and guide two investigation groups of approximately eight social secretaries each. The internal support unit provides social secretaries with support through, among other things, administrators, SIG coordinators/social secretaries in collaboration with the police, coordinators, and school coordinators.
We are now looking for two new colleagues for Children's Unit 2.
What we offer
In the unit, we support each other and value both collaboration and our different experiences and backgrounds. Developing the operations and finding new ways of working is something we see as both important and stimulating.
We offer exciting and developing work together with good and committed colleagues. You will also receive a wellness allowance and the possibility to exchange vacation days for extra days off. Please read more about the City of Stockholm's benefits here (#).
Your role
As a social secretary in the children's units, you work with investigating children's needs for protection and support as well as following up on approved interventions. We strive to involve and maintain good cooperation with the child, parents, and network. You collaborate with other colleagues within social services, schools, the police, and other actors around the child.
We strive to meet the need for interventions locally. There is also a clear structure in the work and well-developed routines here. In your daily work, you have support from group leaders, unit managers, colleagues, and the district coordinator, as well as access to external supervision.
Our employees and managers have a strong drive to find new paths and methods in their work. To succeed, we need more ambitious social secretaries who contribute with their ideas and commitment. This is where you come in!
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- A degree in Social Work (Social Worker).
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
We consider the following to be meritorious:
- Experience and familiarity with investigation work within social services, preferably within child and youth services.
- Good ability to conduct an investigation in a purposeful and legally secure manner.
- Knowledge and experience of BBIC, Signs of Safety.
- Up-to-date knowledge regarding relevant legislation.
We are looking for you who like to work independently and have good structure in your work. As a person, you are flexible and keep your cool in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate and see the importance of creating good relationships. We are looking for you who are used to taking initiative, have empathetic abilities, and have a great interest in working in a multicultural area.
We place great emphasis on personal skills and abilities.
The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at assessing each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
We recruit without a cover letter to strengthen the focus on competence and experience for this role. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions. When we assess your application, we base it on your CV and the questions you have answered. After the final application deadline, we review all applications.
We see diversity as enriching and welcome all applicants.
