Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

Do you want to work with early interventions for children and families? Do you want to help develop support for children exhibiting norm-breaking behavior?

We are now looking for a Family Therapist for the unit providing coordinated support within the "First Line" area. Here, you will work closely with children, parents, schools, police, and leisure activities to strengthen children's development, school attendance, prosocial leisure time, and well-being.

Enskede-Årsta-Vantör is one of Stockholm's largest district areas. We work to provide children and families with support at an early stage and continuously develop our methods based on research, experience, and the needs of families.

We offer

As an employee of Stockholm City, you will receive among other things:

  • Health promotion allowance
  • The opportunity to buy annual passes to the city's swimming and gym facilities at a favorable price
  • The opportunity to help develop future early support for children and families

You can read more about our benefits here: Benefits for employees - Stockholm City (#)

Your role

You will primarily work with families where children exhibit norm-breaking behavior. Furthermore, together with colleagues in the SSPF team, you will be responsible for coordinating area forums with actors such as regulatory social services, preventive social services, police, schools, and leisure activities. You will become part of an established collaboration with the district's primary schools and local police areas.

Together with other actors, we work to strengthen school attendance, promote prosocial leisure time, improve children's conditions for success both today and in the future, and provide parents and networks with the prerequisites to exercise good parenting. Together, we strive to increase protective factors and prevent problems from growing larger.

As a Family Therapist, you currently work with children of primary school age and their families. Interventions are provided without prior benefit assessment and are planned together with the child, guardians/parents, school, and other important adults around the child. It is also common to provide support in the form of parent meetings for guardians/parents whose children are involved.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Provide support and guidance to children and guardians
  • Carry out family-supporting interventions
  • Collaborate and coordinate with actors around the child
  • Meet families in their daily environment, for example, at home or at school
  • Lead parenting support groups
  • Lead parent meetings and be part of the area forum
  • Contribute to the development of operations and method work

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for you who have (requirements):

  • Social work degree (Social worker)
  • Experience in motivational work and family-supporting interventions
  • Knowledge of preventive work with children and families
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious to have:

  • Education or experience in parenting support programs
  • Education or experience in skills training, for example, REPULSE
  • Experience in conversations with children in vulnerable positions
  • Experience working with families where children exhibit norm-breaking behavior
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory social services, the region, and the police authority

We see that you are confident in your professional role, have a professional approach, and the ability to create trusting relationships. You thrive working in an operation characterized by development, participation, and engagement.

You have a good ability to drive and create structure in your work based on the overarching municipal mandate. You are flexible and adapt easily.

Other

The position is subject to the necessary decisions being made. Selection is ongoing.

Working hours are during the day Monday–Friday, with some evening duties within the framework of flextime, in connection with parent meetings or to meet the family's need to be seen outside office hours. We do not meet children during the school day.

Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at looking at each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

Enskede Årsta Vantör is one of 11 district administrations in Stockholm City. As part of Stockholm City, the administration offers preschool and leisure, care for the elderly and disabled, social services, preventive and security-building work, urban development, and park maintenance to our 105,000 residents living in the district area. We face exciting challenges as the Enskede Årsta Vantör district area grows and entirely new neighborhoods are built. Approximately 18,000 new apartments are planned by the year 2030.
