Within the Social Care Administration, approximately 1,200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home help, disability services, and social psychiatry, as well as individual and family care.

About the Position

We are looking for summer substitutes for Nattviolsvägen in Nybrostrand, approximately 7 km east of Ystad. Nattviolen consists of three departments; White, Blue, and Yellow Poppy, with a total of eleven residents. The work targets person group 1 according to §9:9 LSS for adults, which means we have experience in meeting both care needs, challenging, and heavier behaviors. Our focus is always to provide individually adapted support, create security, and help each resident develop in a positive and respectful environment.

Job Responsibilities

We work based on each user's need for support with the goal that our users can be active participants in society and live as independent a life as possible. As a Caregiver/Support Assistant, you provide support to the user in all aspects of life. You start from the user's individual needs and work consciously to ensure that the person uses their abilities as independently as possible.

You will meet users with intellectual disabilities, as well as people with complex needs and/or co-morbidity. Many of the people you come into contact with may experience emotional imbalance, and there are also meetings with users who may display anxiety, self-harm behavior, and/or other self-destructive actions. As an employee, you need to be comfortable in difficult conversations and have the ability to create a secure and respectful interaction.

Tasks may include, for example:

• Personal care and hygiene
• Support during meals, cleaning, and other daily chores
• Social interaction and secure interaction
• Accompanying to medical visits, activities, or appointments
• Working based on help for self-help to strengthen independence
• Medication management after approved delegation

Support is needed around the clock, which means you can work days, evenings, or nights, both weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a warm interaction and a genuine desire to help others. Experience or education is meritorious, but your attitude and commitment are most important to us. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability.

Requirements

• Work within home help, special housing, and LSS can involve solo work, threat and violence situations, heavy lifting, as well as medication management. According to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations on the working environment for minors (AFS 2012:3), sections 6 and 8, such work is not allowed for minors. The person employed must therefore have turned 18 by June 30th at the latest.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing
• You can handle physical work with a lot of movement where heavy lifting may occur
• You work according to basic hygiene routines and in a short-sleeved shirt
• You can work with both men and women

Meritorious

• Education in nursing or pedagogy (attach relevant grades/certificates when applying)
• Experience of similar work within elderly care or LSS
• Category B driver's license
