The Business Area for Children, Youth, and Family in Hägersten-Älvsjö consists of the units; reception, children, children and youth, youth, foster homes, and family support. Our business area is led by a district manager and six unit managers. Together, we move forward and help each other create a social services department that is modern and characterized by high quality.

The Foster Home Unit consists of three groups led by two group leaders and one coordinator. One group consists of foster home secretaries, recruiters, and family counselors, and another group of child social workers and employees who provide administrative support/case handling support. The third group consists of contact secretaries. We also have an ongoing initiative with strengthened support for foster homes where two family counselors work at the unit. The unit's employees have many years of experience and various competencies.

Now we are looking for you with experience in authority work, who together with knowledgeable and engaged colleagues wants to work to ensure that our children get the best possible time during their foster home placement. We offer

As support for foster home secretaries and child social workers to conduct social work of good quality, we have developed case-handler-near support through an administrator and special emergency home case handlers. Here, you have good opportunities for competence development based on the unit's competence supply plan, and you are actively involved in developing the offer of high-quality support. To get a good start in your new workplace, we place great importance on your introduction, and you will receive support from our competent mentors. In addition to regular case handling supervision with management, you will receive external supervision every fourth week in Gamla Stan.

Your role

The role of Child Social Worker includes following up on placements for children and young people aged 0-20 placed in foster homes according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). This is primarily done through home visits in the foster homes, individual conversations with the placed child, and conversations with guardians. You have contact and collaborate with networks and other important people around the placed child. The work involves travel both in the local area and to other parts of Sweden. You will have contact with the children's parents and networks, foster homes, as well as schools and other professional contacts in close collaboration with foster home secretaries.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
  • At least 1 year of current experience working with authority work within children and youth
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good knowledge of legislation within SoL and LVU

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Current experience of work within foster care
  • Signs of Safety
  • Category B driver's license

You have the ability to create good relationships with children and their families, as well as others you collaborate with. You have good collaboration skills, are structured, and organize your work forward. You are flexible and can quickly adapt and reprioritize after new circumstances. You are engaged and have a strong drive to do what is best for our clients and the business, take initiative, appreciate a varied pace, and want to contribute to development and new thinking.
