About the role

You will have overall responsibility for teaching Physical Education (PE), including planning, implementation, assessment, and grading in accordance with the national curriculum.

• Dedicated gymnasium: The school has its own gymnasium on the premises (size equivalent to approximately 2 badminton courts). This means you avoid travel time to external halls and have excellent opportunities for flexible and close-to-home teaching.
• Collaboration: You will be part of a work team that values collegial learning and strong support for students.

We have high ambitions for our teaching and only accept applications from certified teachers.

• Requirements: Teaching certification with eligibility to teach Physical Education (for current grade levels).
• You have a good ability to create safety, structure, and a conducive learning environment in the gym.
• You are skilled at adapting teaching so that all students, regardless of prerequisites, can participate and develop.

About the workplace

Ögårdsskolan is a two-parallel F-6 school (grades 1-6) with approximately 250 students. We are a small school with a strong focus on language development and a safe, calm, family-like environment. Our students, most of whom have roots in cultures other than Swedish, are motivated and curious about their surroundings. Study visits, cultural events, and educational excursions are important parts of our students' daily lives, ensuring they receive as varied an education as possible. Our vision is for our school to be an attractive and successful place where students are given good prerequisites for further studies and professional life. To achieve this, we work with smaller class sizes and high adult presence. We have a maximum of 20 students per class and at least one teaching assistant in each grade.

Ögårdsskolan is located adjacent to Malmö Mosque in Ögårdsparken at Jägersro. Our schoolyard, which is part of the park, is likely the largest and greenest schoolyard in the entire city of Malmö. The small forest areas and large green spaces are used frequently for educational purposes, as the school is a participant in Friluftsfrämjandet's "Forest Heroes" program.
