About Us

Runby School is a large F-9 school (grades 0-9), located in western Upplands Väsby, with the forest as your nearest neighbor. The school has a sports and outdoor life profile that we cherish. We also have a school forest that all staff at the school have access to. The school is growing and currently has just over 1,040 students, including those in adapted basic education and Sjumilaskolan, which is a municipal resource school for students with autism diagnoses.

Runby School is also a partner school to Uppsala University, meaning the school hosts teacher training students throughout their education. Supporting these students is everyone's responsibility, even if you are not a VFU (field of study practice) supervisor.

Upplands Väsby Municipality has also decided on "leisure for all," and this recruitment is a direct result of that decision.

About the Position

In the role of Childcare Worker (Barnskötare), your main task, together with others working in the leisure department, is to plan and be responsible for varied activities at the leisure center. You share responsibility for ensuring the school's leisure activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory documents, primarily the curriculum for leisure centers.

You also work with break-time activities based on Gustav Sundin's "The Schoolyard as a Learning Environment." We work intensively to make our leisure departments equal in quality. You will collaborate closely with other childcare workers, preschool teachers, and class teachers.

At least one of the positions is aimed at a preschool class, while the other positions are more generally aimed at leisure centers. It may become relevant for you to also work as a class resource in a lower secondary class. You will work with students both in school and at the leisure center.

In the role of Childcare Worker, both opening and closing shifts may occur.

You are responsible for independently planning and implementing activities, both indoors and outdoors, which should have a clear thread based on good collaboration with the class teacher and the rest of the leisure staff.

We work collegially with "Sustainable Development" and "Language-Developing Activities." The department writes a common declaration based on the school's goals and the Swedish National Curriculum for Compulsory School (Lgr 22).

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

We are looking for you who are a trained Childcare Worker with experience working in schools and leisure centers.

It is an advantage if you:

• Are familiar with handling digital tools, preferably with experience of Meitner and the Google environment.
• Have a low-affective approach in your interactions.

As a person, you are an engaged educator, driven by developing children and young people for the future. We are looking for you with high and positive expectations of the students. You should be solution-focused and willing to work to create the best pedagogical conditions for the students. You enjoy collaborating and believe in collegial learning.

Furthermore, you are structured, plan your work independently, and make appropriate prioritizations. You need to be calm and secure to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. We also appreciate it if you have good organizational skills.
