Do you want to make a difference for young people in Bromma?

We are expanding our safety work and are looking for an engaged and experienced field assistant who, together with us, wants to make a difference for young people in Bromma! If you thrive in a dynamic and varied environment and have experience working with young people, this could be an exciting assignment for you. The field activity is part of the unit for promotion and preventive measures, which falls under the Department of Social Services and Leisure. The unit is led by a unit manager and two group leaders with a total of 33 employees within the activities; Leisure Activities/Youth House, Field Activity, School Social Teams, Citizen Office with civic guidance, and contracted Youth Clinic. We are located in pleasant premises in Bromma Blocks, in the Youth House at Islandstorget, as well as in Blackeberg with proximity to public transport. Within the unit, we work intensively with development and innovative thinking and have a strong focus on citizens. Collaboration is a keyword within the unit. During the summer, part of the activity will move into new premises in Mariehäll where we will start a new leisure activity and a new citizen office.

Your role

As a field assistant, you work together with your colleagues in a preventive, outreach, and relationship-building manner with young people on their own arenas and in other places in the public environment. We work with the basics of prevention science and risk and protective factors. We create relationships with young people based on voluntariness, trust, and respect and work to help young people achieve a stable future. As a field assistant, you also work to create safety, contributing to Bromma and the city's overall situation picture. Your work is important in collaboration with other actors to create a safe Bromma. You cooperate closely with the administration's safety coordinator, youth clubs, social services, schools, police, and other authorities, guardians, and others who work with young people. The work is based on a systemic approach, where network thinking and network work are of central importance.

Working hours are scheduled during both day, evening, and weekend and are largely located in schools and where young people choose to spend their leisure time.

In schools, we work preventively with the school programs we offer. We also work in the evenings with structured programs such as ABC-teen and Comet-teen. Our work is flexible and follows the changes that occur in young people's lives. It is therefore important to have an interest in environmental monitoring and to enjoy dynamic work. The work is carried out in line with the City of Stockholm's standard for social field work.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and experience working with children and young people, within the area of social services as well as field activity, who enjoy working outdoors and in a varied manner both during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends with a flexible approach. To succeed in the role, you have the ability to make quick and clear decisions, both independently and together with others. You cooperate well with people in different contexts and functions and adapt easily to different situations. You are good at creating an open dialogue and adapt your actions based on the situation. You understand what it means to work in a politically governed organization and can easily adapt to new directives. You are comfortable speaking in front of groups of young people, parents, and other professions.

A B-class driver's license is required for this position.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Training in ABC and Comet Teen.
• Training in MVP.
• Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing).
• Knowledge and experience of working with NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders).
