Who are we?

Villastadsskolan is an F-6 school with currently around 140 students, one class per grade level. The school is located in Kneippen, a quiet and well-functioning district in Norrköping consisting mostly of villas.

The school was built as early as 1929 and has a large and exciting schoolyard that invites play. Teaching for grades F-2 and the leisure-time center for grade F-1 takes place in this building. Part of the teaching takes place in a pavilion with spacious, modern facilities. Here, teaching for grades 3-6 and the leisure-time center for grades 2-6 is conducted.

The proximity to nature and water offers great opportunities for teaching outside the classrooms. For example, we have our own school forest, which is about a 30-minute walk away. Within walking distance, we also have the Stadium Arena, the ice hall, and the city library, which we often make use of.

Our goal is for all students to get as far as possible based on their prerequisites. We work with high expectations of the student, both academically and regarding responsibility, of course with age-appropriate goals.

Educators have undergone training in cooperative learning during recent school years, which has increased student activity during lessons.

Your responsibilities

You work at the leisure-time center before and/or after the school day. You belong to a work team where, together with other leisure-time center teachers, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating leisure-time center activities. There are currently six certified leisure-time center teachers at the school, and we need to strengthen the team with more staff.

During the school day, you work together with one or two teachers and are attached to one or two grade levels. You are involved in the students' development both before, during, and after the school day.

The position may include teaching in Physical Education and Health for grades 1-3. You are expected to co-plan the annual schedule for Physical Education and Health with one or more colleagues.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a certified leisure-time center teacher with qualifications in Physical Education and Health as a primary requirement. Alternatively, you may be certified in another practical-esthetic subject. We would like you to have work experience in a similar role and experience in developing and managing a leisure-time center. You need to be open to changes and willing to adapt to them effectively.

You have good knowledge and experience working with students with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF). You tackle tasks independently and consult others when needed. By having several educators observe the students throughout the day, you contribute to developing students and colleagues by providing positive support so that individuals can reach their full potential. You are a clear leader in the student group, are flexible, and have a positive view of students. We want you to share our goal that all students should get as far as possible based on their prerequisites.

Qualifications regarding knowledge of how to work with students who have language disorders are meritorious. You can convey oral information clearly and securely. We also view it positively if you have experience working preventively and promotively regarding student safety, as well as being confident in reacting and acting if conflicts arise between students.

You have clear pedagogical insight and the ability to translate curriculum goals into your work. As a person, you are engaged, receptive, and skilled at creating good relationships with both students and guardians.

You appreciate working in a team where you contribute your knowledge, experience, and solution-focus to create a meaningful leisure-time activity for our students, as well as complementing the compulsory school curriculum in an enjoyable way during leisure time.

To succeed in this assignment, we want you to be able to speak, write, and read Swedish without difficulty.
