SJR is now hiring an Interim Accountant for a non-profit organization with offices on Södermalm in central Stockholm. The assignment starts at the end of August/beginning of September and is initially for 3 months with a possibility of extension. The company applies a hybrid setup where you are expected to work from the office three days a week. The remaining time can be spent working from home if desired.

About the role

You will become part of an engaged accounting team in a project-intensive operation, located on Östgötagatan. The role suits you if you have a few years of experience in accounting and thrive in an environment with clear processes, international elements, and a continuous flow of information. You will work in a team consisting of a total of 6 people.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping and handle transactions
• Administer expense claims, receipts, and travel accounts
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations
• Book transactions in foreign currency
• Handle grant and project payments
• Communicate with the bank regarding payment inquiries
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Collaborate with colleagues for accurate and up-to-date financial reporting

Suitable background

We are looking for you who have approximately three years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization or within construction/industries with project-intensive operations. You have a relevant post-secondary education in economics and are confident in basic accounting principles. Experience with Maconomy is highly merit-worthy, as is experience from international contexts or project accounting. You work comfortably in Excel and master both Swedish and English very well in speech and writing.

You are communicative, team-oriented, and contribute positively to the team's working climate. At the same time, you are confident working independently and take responsibility for your tasks from start to finish.
