to apply for the job
In Trelleborg, we work together to build a growing, successful municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 urban districts are creative meeting places bubbling with life. Here, we want things, talk about them, and come as we are. This is why we welcome others in the same generous and curious way.
Welcome to join the journey!
The Social Services Board's mission is to work with social services and provide support, so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and participate in society. With a focus on respecting the individual's right to determine their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and nursing, support for people with disabilities, and assistance to individuals and families. Our goal is for everyone to receive the support and care they need.
Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values – openness, respect, and responsibility – it is important and crucial that these values are just as natural for you as they are for us in our work.
The Workplace
The Individual and Family Care department consists of five units. In addition to the Addiction and Adult Unit, there are the Intake and Assessment Unit, the Advice and Support Unit, the Foster Care and Family Law Unit, and the Prevention Unit. In total, we have approximately 110 employees.
At the Addiction and Adult Unit, you will become part of a competent and dedicated team consisting of social secretaries, therapists, addiction educators, senior social secretaries, and unit managers. Here, we place great emphasis on motivational and change work in the assessment process, and we are proud of our well-developed care chain for people with addiction issues. We work from a holistic and family perspective with the individual in focus.
The unit is responsible for municipal care regarding harmful use and addiction for persons over 18 years of age. The unit is also responsible for the municipality's interventions regarding persons who wish to leave a criminal lifestyle or are in need of protection related to crime, human trafficking, and exploitation. Relatives of the target groups are also included in our area of responsibility. The care chain consists of assessment responsibility with authority functions, support and treatment interventions, discharge, Housing First, and low-threshold housing.
We work with Signs of Safety and Motivational Interviewing (MI) as approaches. Training in ASI and Signs of Safety is therefore offered to everyone, along with further competence development as needed and required. External group supervision is included in the work. The leadership is trusting and engaged, and there is high availability of internal work supervision. At the workplace, there is an awareness of the importance of recovery, and there is an opportunity to work from home regularly. The workplace offers flexible working hours.
Communication opportunities are good. The workplace is located approximately a seven-minute walk from the bus and Pågatåg (regional train) station.
Job Responsibilities
At the Addiction and Adult Unit, you, as a social secretary, will independently handle cases throughout the entire process from the start of the assessment until the case is closed. The work includes exercising authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Abusers of Intoxicants (LVM), as well as providing statements. You will investigate, assess suitable interventions, provide the basis for decisions, and follow up on approved interventions. After the completion of treatment interventions, we offer follow-up contact for one year. We work systematically using ASI and UBÅT as instruments for assessment, evaluation, and follow-up. Our approach is based on Signs of Safety and MI. You will work in close collaboration with the unit's addiction educators and therapists, as well as other colleagues within Individual and Family Care. A large part of the work is done in collaboration with other actors, such as the region's psychiatry and addiction care; for example, we have a close cooperation with Region Skåne's LARO clinic in Trelleborg.
The work includes contributing to the development of the operations and suggesting improvements. The unit has started a development project to prepare and adapt operations based on the comorbidity reform. You will be involved in continuing this development work.
Qualifications
We are looking for a curious and engaged employee with a degree in social work. You should be good at building contact and sustainable relationships and have high collaborative skills. Experience with exercising authority and assessment work according to SoL and LVM for adults with addiction issues is desirable. You may have a certified ASI training and experience working with ASI and UBÅT.
We assume that you are interested in the areas of harmful use and addiction, as well as crime and desistance activities. A respectful and personal approach to clients, as well as colleagues and partners, is important in our work.
Since the work is complex and emotionally demanding, you need to be stable and secure as a person and have a low-affective approach. You will work with both acute problems and long-term interventions, which means you need to be responsible with a good ability to independently plan and carry out the work within given frameworks. You also need to be good at seeking information and adapting to new situations at work. In collaboration with other actors, you need to be proactive and initiative-taking.
As a social secretary at the Addiction and Adult Unit, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish and be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing, as well as have good pedagogical and communicative skills. Basic training in MI is an advantage. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Before employment is offered, you must be able to present a degree certificate from a social work program, a valid ID document (passport or national ID card), and a clean criminal record extract.
