Are you looking for a position where pedagogical collaboration and professional development are at the forefront? Brokind School is now looking for an engaged teacher for the after-school program (fritidshem) for our operations in grades 4–6. Here, you will become part of a well-structured organization with access to lead teachers for guidance. We offer a varied workday in modern facilities, where you work as a resource during the school day and develop an active and movement-rich after-school program in the afternoons.

Your responsibilities

As a teacher for the after-school program, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues in our operations for grades 4–6.

We are proud to have a well-functioning after-school program for grades 4–6 with approximately 40 enrolled children. You will work in a team of two educators where you together shape and develop the operations based on the student group you meet. We expect you to create varied and challenging teaching where digital tools are a natural part. Our grades 4–6 operation has a slight sports profile as we have access to and often use the Brogårdshallen sports hall. Therefore, it is meritorious if you have qualifications in Physical Education and Health (even though the position does not involve formal class teaching in the subject). We also value a great interest in movement and sports activities.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. Here you become part of a well-functioning after-school organization where collaboration is in focus. To support your and the operation's development, there is also a lead teacher for the after-school program on site, which creates good conditions for professional guidance and pedagogical deepening.

Your workplace

Brokind and Sätra schools are characterized by learning, security, community, and engagement. Here, competent educators work with a common ambition: to create meaningful learning where every student reaches their full potential. Our two schools are led by a joint management team that works for close exchange regarding students' learning and an efficient distribution of our competent staff.

This position is located at Brokind School, but you will become part of our common context where we benefit from each other's strengths.

Our goal is to offer an equitable and enjoyable education with maximum learning in focus. As an employee here, you become part of an engaged work team that together develops the operations towards our common goals: higher goal achievement through security, increased motivation, and a strong focus on the basic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic.

The position's current location is at Brokind School, which is beautifully situated on the hill in the community and operates in modern, newly built facilities adapted to today's curriculum. Here, approx. 125 students from preschool class to grade 6 attend, distributed in age-homogeneous classes. The school also houses a preschool, a focus library, and a full-size sports hall. The operations are characterized by close collaboration between school and after-school program, where we have found methods that complement each other and contribute to high goal achievement. At the after-school program, six educators work in two departments: one for grades F–3 and "After School" for grades 4–6. We have a unique collaboration with Brokind IF to create an active leisure time with everything from forest activities and movement in the Brokind Hall to after-school crafts based on the students' wishes.

Sätra School in Bestorp is our smaller school with approx. 88 students (F–6). The school is located in a beautiful natural setting and values outdoor pedagogy, outdoor life, and high student influence, especially within the after-school program.

You who apply

Primarily, we are looking for you who have a teaching license with qualifications for the after-school program. Secondarily, we are looking for you with a degree certificate or completed education as a teacher for the after-school program. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education as a teacher for the after-school program. It is meritorious if you have qualifications to teach Physical Education and Health for grades 4-6.

It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-based after-school program, through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have worked as a teacher for the after-school program for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher for the after-school program, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

Since the school is located in an area with limited public transport, we see that you have a driver's license and access to a car.

As a teacher for the after-school program, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
