Your future challenge

BAE Systems is currently in a very intense period with many parallel projects generating numerous job opportunities. Therefore, we want to continue strengthening our design department for Standard Vehicle Variants with a Lead Mechanical Designer. The Standard Vehicle Variants group currently consists of 18 employees with roles such as Team Leaders, Lead Designer, Mechanical Designers, Group Leaders, and Mechanical Consultants. The group is responsible for designing interiors and equipment for the vehicle roles of troop transport and command vehicles, as well as adapting these based on customer requirements.

The Standard Vehicle Variants group is part of the Vehicle Design unit, which consists of four groups in total.

In the role of Lead Designer, you have overall responsibility for design solutions in various areas/projects. You have a central and coaching role for designers in your project team. You will also have the opportunity to work on your own designs. To ensure that projects and the company meet their goals, you also need to have commercial understanding and analytical skills. This is required to continuously ensure a balance between technical solution, schedule, and budget.

The Lead Designer is primarily involved in line work but will be part of various design teams as an expert in their field.

The person you are

We prefer that you, as an applicant, have a University degree or Civil Engineer degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or equivalent acquired experience. You are familiar with 3D modeling tools.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English (oral/written) is a requirement.
