Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer position as a Treatment Assistant at SiS (The National Board of Institutional Care).
The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you ensure that routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our young people and clients, providing the foundation for daily life such as school attendance, cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining security on the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good therapeutic relationships and help ensure that our young people and clients receive the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
We are currently looking for summer substitutes for both scheduled day/evening shifts and awake night shifts, with duty every third weekend.
We are also looking for Treatment Assistants for hourly employment.
As a substitute at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
You must have:
- A minimum of a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS (Support and Service Act) care.
- Category B driver's license.
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a probation officer.
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., as a case officer at a detention center.
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, youth care, young girls, etc.).
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing change, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good therapeutic relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

*Exceptions to the requirement of a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, you will receive a bonus if you work full-time as a monthly employed summer substitute for more than four weeks. Employment
The position is a fixed-term employment with a start date as agreed. The vacation period spans June – August.
